The Coach
Debrah Martin is a well-known coach and speaker who has many years experience in both the public and private sectors. Debrah, an action-oriented professional who coaches in several languages, has her Professional Certified Coach (PCC) credentials from the International Coach Federation. She is a graduate of both Coach U and Corporate Coach U and is the author of Stars in Life: Coaching kids to success, a ground-breaking book on coaching children and youth, and several articles on leadership issues. She is a peer reviewer of papers proposed for the International Coach Federation research conferences. Debrah recently completed her M. A. in Linguistics at Carleton University; her thesis explored the body of knowledge on conversational analysis and what it can offer coaches. She is currently working on her Ph. D. in Leadership at Andrews University in Michigan, specializing in the language of leadership. She is passionate about the role of language in the workplace, especially how leaders can use language to improve (or inadvertently destroy) corporate culture.
